Q. Where do you stand doctrinally?
A. I’m conservative (or “evangelical” or “biblical”). Concerning doctrine, you can ask any questions you like or discuss anything with me in order to help you make a decision about whether or not to extend an invitation. I am able to teach in such a way as to explain all points of view, if needed.
Q. Can the lessons you teach be reviewed in advance?
A. Yes. You’ll be provided a copy for review of any lesson(s) selected and will be provided further explanation, if needed. A comprehensive (but not exhaustive) list of biblical lessons I teach are enclosed on the lessons page on this site. They range from deeply theological (The Problem of Evil) to exceedingly practical (Understanding Friendship Evangelism). I also have extensive notes on the New Testament; additionally, I can create new lessons to cover specific topics. I have many years of preaching experience.
Q. Where is your area of availability?
A. California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona.
Q. When are you available? How long can you teach?
A. Anytime: weekdays, weekends; morning, midday, evening, and middle of the night; moreover, I can teach any number of days and hours you desire, within reason. Obviously, at my age I need a break from time to time when teaching multiple sessions.
Q. Do you charge a speaking fee?
A. Near my home in Modesto, there is no speaking fee. Although I prefer not to charge a fee, travel may involve expenses, so that will be decided on a case-by-case basis and is negotiable. I'm not here to make money, but to teach and serve the church community and individual Christians.
Q. What about the length of lessons you teach?
A. Lessons vary in length (most are 1-2 pages). Each page involves about one hour of teaching; however, longer lessons consume more time, or may require multiple sessions. I can adjust lessons to fit your ministry’s needs regarding time and length. Question and answer time can be included.
Q. Who are you willing to teach?
A. Anyone at all who desires to learn more about what the Bible teaches; anyone who has questions about the Bible.
Q. Do you provide follow-up or further information?
A. For those desiring to do so, I can be contacted by e-mail to answer any questions, carry on follow-up discussions, and provide resources for further study once the teaching is completed. Whether a church congregation or individual student, these lessons are also available on request without having attended a speaking or teaching event.
My name is Dr. Robert Brickner, and I was saved in 1973.
If you are in need of a sound and practical teaching resource for your congregation to learn the Bible, I humbly offer my services.
I am a retired minister having served churches and para-church organizations in California. I have been conducting a teaching ministry for 47 years. I have taught in churches, homes, prisons, schools, and homeless shelters; I have taught a broad range of congregations, individuals, and in the process of this nearly lifelong pursuit, developed lessons covering a wide variety of biblical topics. I have been very blessed to be able to explain very complex ideas in a way that can be understood by average Christians. Audiences enjoy and engage best with presentations that aid them in better grasping God’s word and related doctrinal issues as well as acquiring pragmatic information for successful Christian living.
